The thicket meter is a measuring instrument for measuring thicknesses in sheet metal, films or other materials by differential measurement (by comparison). The 2-contact thicketsare made up of a U-shaped support (similar to that of the two-contact outer micrometers), on which the two measuring contacts are housed; one fixed and one mobile. The measuring field of these thickets issimilar to that of mechanical comparators varying from 1 mm to 30 mm. The thickness meter usually has a resolution ranging from 0.001 mm to 0.1mm.

Another type of thicket meter is the one that uses only a measuring contact and that is widely used to measure the thicknesses of tanks, tanks etc ... or any other element normally of large size that cannot be measured by 2 contacts. Thickness gauges for paints or coatings measure the thickness of the layer deposited on the metal element both ferric and non-ferrous. For example, it can be used to measure the thickness of the paint on a beam.

In addition to adequate Accuracy and Precision for the thickness measurement process, when the traceability of the measurements made with the Espesímetro is a requirement, it is necessary that the Espesímetro includes a Calibration Certificate issued by a Laboratory Accredited by ENAC according to ISO 17025. Due to the wide variety of certificates offered by manufacturers and distributors, it is important to note that only this type of certificate guarantees to meet the requirement of having a thickimeter that ensures the metrological traceability of your measurements.

The precise thicket is available in analog or digital version. As an easy-to-use handheld thicket, it provides the user with fast and reproducible thickness measurement values. The use of measuring instruments in pocket format is also useful for collaborators in the foreign service and officers in charge of claims departments, and helps the customer and manufacturers to accurately check the state of things.

A specific application case of the thicket is the high-precision measurement of precious stones, jewelry and other valuables. You can find thickness sto determine the thickness of layers (lacquers/paints) also in the online store. The principles of measuring the thicket are as follows: Magnetic inductive or eddy current. The thicket can be used on surfaces of the most diverse metal-based materials (metal, iron, non-ferrous metals, alloys) and on non-ferrous substrates such as wood, plastic, fiber, concrete (PT-200 models).

These devices are essential for example in galvanizing companies. The thicket is ideal for quality control in anodizing, zinc-forming, galvanizing, material control in production, inlet and outlet control, as well as for measuring the paint/lacquer layer for example in the automotive sector.
