PWB01CM2310A, Control relays and Protection Three-phase Load Control Models DWB01, PWB01, PWB01CM2310A, These relays allow precise control of the power factor in three-phase systems with balanced load. They are used to control the load of asynchronous motors, as well as other symmetrical loads in which the power factor is almost proportional to the load. The relay measures the power factor (cos φ), which is the ratio of active power to the apparent power of a motor. The start/stop input allows a manual switch to be used to start and stop the engine, without the need for any other auxiliary device. The interlocking function allows the relay to be kept activated even after the alarm condition is over. The inhibition function is used to prevent the operation of the relay when necessary (e.g. maintenance operations or adjustments). LEDs indicate the status of the alarm and output relay., PWB01CM2310A, DWB01 and PWB01 equipment can be used to control asynchronous motor loads. The relay measures the absolute value of the system's power factor, PF = Active Power/Apparent Power, and that in a balanced system with sine waveforms is equivalent to the cosine of the angle formed by the intensity and voltage of the motor (cos φ). As the cos φ varies with the motor load, loads that are above or below the established limits can be detected by the DWB01 and PWB01 relays. Although the relationship between the load and the cos φ depends on the type of engine, in general a correct operation of the engine can be achieved by adjusting the maximum level above the cos φ indicated in the engine, and the minimum level below that value. In any case, it is recommended to always do a practical test after the adjustment. The relay has a delay to the adjustable connection to avoid overload detection during engine start-up.
