The repeater has a built-in channel generator function for the Dupline® secondary. This channel generator function conforms to the function of the channel generator on the primary side. The repeater introduces a delay of 2 scan or Dupline pulse train® by transferring the signals from the secondary side to the primary side. Reaction time The total delay introduced by the Repeater is the time it takes for the safety transmitter information to be transmitted to the Channel Generator and to pass to the safety relay. If a safety transmitter (GS75102101) is installed on the secondary side of the Repeater, the signal from that transmitter will have an additional delay of two Dupline scans®. This means that the reaction time of the safety function (defined in the GS38000143230 data sheet) will increase with the time corresponding to two Dupline scans®. If a safety relay (GS38300143230) has been installed on the secondary side of a Repeater, the reaction time of the safety function will be increased by 1 ms. If the safety transmitter and safety relay are installed on the secondary side of the Repeater, the delay will be: Two Dupline scan® + 1 ms. First, the safety transmitter information goes from the secondary side to the Channel Generator on the primary side, introducing a delay of two Dupline scans®. The information then returns from the Channel Generator via the Repeater to the secondary side and to the safety relay, entering a delay of one ms. Scan Dupline® = (number of channels x 1 ms) + 8 ms.
