When the up ramp potentiometer is at position 1 or 2, RSGD will follow an intensity limitation self-learning algorithm. As soon as the control voltage signal is applied on A1-A2 (or ST on RSGD60 models), RSGD will start the engine ramp up. Right at the first start, the intensity will be limited to 4xFLC. At subsequent starts, RSGD will automatically adjust the intensity limit to keep the engine start time as close as possible to the adjusted up ramp time. During the down ramp, RSGD works with a torque control algorithm to smooth the engine stop. As soon as the control voltage signal is removed on A1-A2 (or ST on RSGD60 models), RSGD will gradually decelerate the engine according to the down ramp setting. Power semiconductors shall be switched off as soon as the time (according to down-ramp adjustment) has elapsed, unless there is a risk of exceeding the maximum temperature in the semiconductors. In that case, RSGD will let the engine stop.
