G38910021230, Dupline® Profibus-DP Gateway Model G 3891 0021, G38910021230, Dupline® channel generator with the function of a PROFIBUS-DP slave. This means that the Dupline® Inputs/Outputs (the analogue signals) can be used as a PROFIBUS-DP slave. Dupline® (including multiplexed analog signals) can be read/controlled by a PROFIBUS-DP master (PLC, computer interface cards, etc. from various suppliers). Several Dupline® gateways can be connected to the same PROFIBUS-DP network. The unit is certified by PNO (Profibus Nutzer Organisation) which guarantees its compatibility and interface with other PNO certified products., G38910021230, The Dupline® PROFIBUS-DP gateway is a Dupline channel generator with the PROFIBUS-DP slave function according to EN 50 170. This means that the 128 Dupline® inputs/outputs (including AnaLink) can be read/controlled by PROFIBUS-DP masters such as PLCs and computer interface cards from various manufacturers. Several Dupline® gateways can be connected to the same PROFIBUS-DP network and can work together with other PROFIBUS-DP modules such as operator panels, MMI, frequency inverters, input/output modules, etc. The Dupline® PROFIBUS-DP gateway is PNO (Profibus Nutzer Organisation) certified which guarantees its compatibility with other PNO certified products. Configuration switches This unit is equipped with the following configuration switches (see also Switch setting): 1 x 16-position rotary switch for selection of the number of Dupline® channels within the range from 8 to 128 (in groups of 8). The selected letter indicates the last available Dupline® channel group. If, for example, H is selected, all 64 channels in groups A to H are available. 2 x 10-position rotary switch for selecting the PROFIBUSDP slave addresses 2 to 99 (00 to 01 are reserved). Each module connected to the PROFIBUS-DP must have a unique slave address that allows the PROFIBUS-DP master to access the modules individually. 1 DIP switch for selection of the Dupline® operating mode. In "Normal" mode, the Dupline® operates as a point-to-point system, in which the channel generator automatically establishes a connection between Dupline® inputs and outputs coded to the same Dupline® address. If, for example, an input coded for B5 is activated, the output(s) of B5 will also be activated. A Dupline® output can therefore be activated via the output data received on the PROFIBUS-DP or by an active Dupline® input coded to the same Dupline® address. In "Ent./Split. Split" mode, the channel generator treats the Dupline® inputs and outputs independently. If, for example, a B5-coded input is activated, the gateway will put the information into the PROFIBUS-DP network (as in normal mode), but will not automatically activate the B5-coded Dupline® output(s). The Dupline® outputs are controlled exclusively via the output signals received on the PROFIBUS-DP. In this mode, 128 Dupline® inputs and 128 Dupline® outputs are available, as each input and output coded in the same Dupline® address can be operated independently of each other. 1 DIP switch for Analog Protocol selection for AnaLink (8 bit format) or multiplex (16 bit format). The gateway will only transfer the analogue values of modules using the chosen protocol. If multiplex is used, the gateway will perform the required multiplexing of channels A1 to A4 automatically. Therefore, these four channels are not available as outputs when the multiplex protocol is selected. 1 DIP switch for version selection Normally, this switch should be in the OFF position, especially when the gateway is used in new installations and configured with the G38_21.GSD file. In replacements or expansions of existing installations, this switch should be set to ON, so that the gateway will operate with the previous GSD version (Mod 6590.GSD). Dupline® input data To facilitate the Profibus master configuration, the file G38_021.gsd must be used. This file describes to the master the input/output data supported by the gateway. All input/output data can be selected via so-called modules, each described with its particular functions. Digital Input, Digital Output, Analogue Input and Analogue Output. This makes the individual configuration of the gateway relatively simple, as the user only has to select the input/output modules to be used. The supported modules can be selected in any order and combination. The G38910021 gateway supports one digital input module and one digital output module, corresponding to the input and output data of the 128 channels. In addition, it supports 56 multiplexed analog inputs and 56 analog outputs, which is realized via 7 other analog input modules named "AIn (Mux:CD,0-7/Alink:AB)", "AIn (Mux:CD,8-F/Alink:CD)" ... "AIn (Mux:IJ,0- 7/Alink:MN)" and 7 analog output modules named "Aout (Mux:CD,0-7)", "Aout (Mux:CD,8-F)" ... "Aout (Mux:IJ,0-7)". All modules consist of 16 bytes of data, and the content of the Dupline® data and the relationships to it can be seen in the tables below. If the Dupline® signal is short-circuited, the gateway will set the input status of all channels to OFF, and issue a diagnostic report to the Profibus master.
