BSD-PIR90-U, Smart Dupline Indoor PIR Sensor Model BSD-PIR90-U, BSD-PIR90-U, The BSD-PIR90-U is a 90° PIR sensor that detects presence and/or movement in indoor applications. It is part of the "smart-house" concept and can be used to control lights, roller blinds, air conditioning, intrusion alarms and for the rest of the functions of the smart-house system, automatically and depending on the presence of people. The sensor is fully programmable through the tool SH., BSD-PIR90-U, The PIR sensor responds to any fluctuation in case of infrared radiation by heat variation, so that any object or body changes the thermal image detected by the sensor when entering its field of vision. The sensor is equipped with a segmented lens that divides the field of view into active and passive zones (areas not visible to the sensor; see the figures "Horizontal and Vertical sensitive zone"). When a heat source crosses these areas, the sensor detects the change in infrared radiation and detects presence and/or movement. It is possible to program the level of sensitivity and speed of the sensor when detecting presence and / or movement by means of four parameters using the SH tool if the sensor is controlled through a SH2WEB24 master unit, or using the BGP-COD-BAT programmer if the sensor is connected to a BH8-CTRLX-230. The four parameters are: detection mode when crossing the active zones, sensitivity, number of pulses and time window in which the pulses must be detected. It is necessary to adjust these four parameters for both presence detection and motion detection. The system employs movement in the intruder alarm function and to turn on the light, while presence is used in the light function to recharge the energy-saving timer (every time a presence is detected, the energy-saving timer starts counting from the beginning). 1) Detection mode A: A border between the active zone and the passive zone must be crossed in order to provide a pulse signal. This option must be selected for presence detection and movement in order for the light to turn on as soon as a person moves from an active zone to a passive zone, or vice versa (very fast response). B: Two edges must be crossed to provide a pulse signal. The person must move from one active zone to another active zone, through a passive zone, or vice versa. This option is recommended for sensors with intruder alarm function, in order to avoid false alarm states. 2) Sensitivity This is a number that can be adjusted from 3 to 100: the lower this value, the longer the detection distance, but the higher the sensitivity to heat sources. In the figures "Horizontal and Vertical sensitive zone", three examples of different sensitivity appear. 3) Number of pulses It is the number of pulses calculated according to mode A or B before sending the controller a people detection message. It can be programmed from 1 to 8. 4) Time window This is the time interval in which the predefined number of pulses should be detected. It can be programmed from 1 to 10 seconds. The table below shows an example of a configuration that, of course, can depend on the conditions of the environment, the application and the type of installation.
