NSE02CB24SC, Safety Modules Carpet and Safety Edge Models NST02C, NSE02C, NSE02CB24SC, Safety Modules for Carpets (NST02C) and Edges (NSE02C) compliant with EN 13849- 1:2007. These products are the control unit of the safety system to monitor hazardous areas and to be used with the SM safety mat or the SE safety edge of CARLO GAVAZZI. The modules are available in versions with automatic/manual reset or manual control., NSE02CB24SC, Safety modules NST02C and NSE02C control the condition and integrity of carpets and safety edges, respectively, according to the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC. If the module is properly powered and the safety mat (or edge) is not pressed, the module is enabled to close the safety outlets and external contactors can be connected. When the safety mat (edge) is pressed, the module opens the safety outlets and the external contactors cannot be connected. CH = channel Automatic START If the terminals S1 and S2 are connected and the safety mat (edge) is not pressed, the module closes its own safety outlets. The corresponding LEDs CH1 and CH2 light up. If the safety mat (edge) is pressed (layers in contact with each other), the module immediately forces the opening of the safety exits. Once the carpet (edge) is released, a new cycle begins when 2 seconds have elapsed. Manual START If the carpet (edge) is not pressed, the safety exits close as soon as the START button is pressed (connecting S1 and S2). The corresponding LEDs CH1 and CH2 light up. A new operating cycle is possible when the carpet (edge) is released, activating the START button and waiting 2 seconds. START manual control The versions with START manual control (NST... C and NSE... C) work as described in the Manual Start paragraph, except for a minimum delay of 400 ms from the release of the carpet (edge) until the START button is pressed. If the carpet (edge) is released with the START button closed, the safety exits are not closed: it is necessary to release the START button and the carpet (edge) before starting a new cycle, then (after at least 400 ms) activate the START button. That is, if the START button is nailed, the outputs will never be closed again.
