DLA71DB482P, Alternative Pump Control Relays Model DLA71, DLA71DB482P, DLA71 is a relay created to alternate 2 or 3 pumps in a multi-pump system. In case of need (e.g. in an overflow situation), the second and even the third pump can be activated together with the first. When it is necessary to start more than one pump at the same time, each pump will start 10 s. after the previous one to avoid high simultaneous starting currents. The LEDs indicate the status of the alarm and the output relay. Modular box of 35.5 mm width., DLA71DB482P, åDLA71 is designed for pumping systems with 2 or 3 pumps operating in parallel. It allows the pumps to operate alternately and, if necessary, it is also possible to operate several pumps at once. Example 1 (emptying of a tank, 2-pump system) As soon as the liquid reaches the S1 switch, it starts a pump. When the S1 switch is out of reach of the liquid, the pump stops. When the S1 switch is activated again, it starts the other pump allowing uniform work of all pumps. If the S2 switch is activated, the two pumps (2 pumps running at the same time) are put into operation. When the S2 switch returns to its resting position, the pump that has been running the longest stops. Note (2-pump system) If the system is continuously working with a single pump, after 6 hours of work the DLA71 for the pump and the second starts automatically. This rotation is repeated every 6 hours of continuous work of a single pump. Example 2 (emptying of a tank, 2-pump system, differential mode) In this case, the start and stop of each pump is carried out separately by two pairs of switches: S1, S2 and S3, S4. By properly adjusting these switches, the pumps can work together in case of need. Example 3 (emptying of a tank, 3-pump system, normal mode) The system works exactly the same as in example 1, only in this case if the liquid reaches the S3 switch, all three pumps will work at the same time. When the switch returns to its position, the pumps will stop in sequential order, starting with the one that has been working the longest. Example 4 (emptying of a tank, 3-pump system, total mode) When the liquid reaches the S1 switch, a pump will be activated. When the liquid level is back below the S4 switch, the pump will stop. If the S1 switch is triggered again, another pump will be started. If the S2 switch is activated, a second pump (rescue function) will come into operation. If the S3 switch is activated, all pumps will be put into operation. The only switch that allows all activated pumps to be stopped at any time is S4. Note (3-pump system) If the system is continuously working with a single pump, after 6 hours working the DLA71 for the pump and the second starts automatically. If in addition, the second pump works continuously only for 6 hours, it stops and then the third pump is connected. If a pair of pumps is continuously working for 6 hours, one stops, the one that has worked the longest and starts the pump free. This rotation is repeated every 6 hours of continuous work of a pump or a pair of pumps. Note: (System of 2 and 3 pumps) If it is a question of filling a tank, all the switches in the tank are reversed.
